Mark Hammel, BA, BSN, RN, HTL ASCP-R Registered Nurse

Amber first became interested in pursuing a nursing degree while working at an ob-gyn’s office in her early 20s. After completing her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Delaware Technical and Community College, she began working at the Delaware Hospice Center. After 4 years of hospice nursing she began working for Bayhealth on their physical rehabilitation unit. Soon after Amber began her pursuit of an advanced degree in nursing with a goal of becoming a Family Nurse Practioner. Her nursing journey then took her to Atlantic Family Physcians where she has practiced primary care since March 2020.

Mark first became interested in the medical industry as a child after he required a few hospitalizations. Once he completed high school he enrolled in San Diego State University and later completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Nebraska while in the USAF. During his time serving in the USAF, he worked as a histologist/pathologist assistant at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After retiring from the USAF, he decided to become a nurse and enrolled in the Beebe School of Nursing. Since becoming a nurse he has worked in many different hospital specialties including the ICU, PCU, ED, and the open heart unit. As well as a community nurse in psych, PACU, rheumatology, hospice, and home care.

Getting to know us better…

Amber- “I have always had a passion for skin care and the practice of maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit. This is what drew me to the nursing profession and eventually becoming a family nurse practitioner. Opening a medical spa was a long-term goal of mine and I am grateful to have finally brought this dream into reality. Thankfully, Mark has supported me in this journey and is just as excited as I am to offer these services to the community.”

Mark- “While growing up I always wanted to become a nurse but that path came later in my life as my second career. As a histologist, I gained extensive knowledge of human anatomy/physiology and various skin conditions. However, as a people person, it never fulfilled my desire to help people one-on-one. So once I settled in Delaware, I decided it was time to enroll in nursing school. I never thought I would be opening a medical spa but I am looking forward to this new nursing journey with my wife.“

It is our mission to improve the health and wellness of our community.

We thank you for taking the time to get to know us!
